Getting Paid on Paraform
Last updated: April 17, 2026
This article covers everything about how you get paid as a recruiter on Paraform: setting up payouts, the different ways you earn, and how payments are processed.
Set up your payout account
Before you can receive any payments, you need to set up a Stripe account through Paraform. Paraform uses Stripe to send payments securely, and you'll manage everything — bank account, payment methods, 1099 forms — from your Stripe dashboard.
You don't need a payment method set up to start recruiting on Paraform — you can set this up later. But we'd recommend connecting Stripe before you submit your first candidate so there are no delays once you earn your first reward.
If Stripe isn't supported in your country, email team@paraform.com and we'll work with you to set up a different method.
Ways you can earn
Base hire rewards
Your main earnings come from base hire rewards, paid when a candidate you submit gets hired. The reward is a percentage of the candidate's first-year salary and is finalized after the offer is accepted.
How base hire rewards are paid:
For most hires, the reward is split into three installments starting from the candidate's official start date:
First installment: 30 days after start date
Second installment: 60 days after start date
Third installment: 90 days after start date
Some roles use a different schedule — contracting roles in particular are typically paid out across more installments (up to 12). You can see your specific schedule for each hire in your Paraform payments dashboard.
If a candidate leaves before all installments are paid:
If they leave before the first installment is due, no reward is paid out.
If they leave after at least one installment has been paid, we ask you to perform a replacement search for the role. Remaining installments won't be paid.
Full terms are in the recruiter agreement.
First submission rewards
Some roles offer a first submission reward — a bonus paid to the first handful of recruiters whose initial candidate on that role reaches a specified interview stage.
The role will display the reward amount and the number of spots available (e.g. "$200 first submission reward, 10 spots").
Spots are first-come, first-served — the faster you submit a quality candidate who advances, the better your chances.
You can see if a role has a first submission reward from the browse page or the role's page.
Interview rewards
Many roles pay additional rewards when your candidate reaches specified interview stages (first round, mid-round, final round). You can see the full reward schedule in the Rewards tab of each role.
Interview rewards are paid on top of base hire rewards — even if your candidate doesn't ultimately get hired, you can still earn when they advance through the interview process.
Weekly challenges
Paraform runs ongoing weekly challenges with bonus rewards for hitting platform-wide goals (e.g. submission counts, interview rates). You can opt into active challenges from your dashboard. See Paraform Challenges for more on how challenges work.
Payout timing
Rewards are processed automatically once the triggering event happens (candidate reaches an interview stage, start date passes an installment milestone, etc.). Once processed, it can take up to 7 business days for funds to land in your Stripe account, depending on your bank and Stripe's payout schedule.
You can track the status of every payment in your Paraform payments dashboard.
FAQ
Taxes
As an independent contractor on Paraform, you're responsible for paying your own taxes on earnings. At the end of the year, a 1099 form will be issued summarizing your earnings. Stripe handles 1099 reporting and filing automatically — see Stripe's 1099 documentation for more.
Is there a contract?
Yes. You can view the recruiter agreement you have with Paraform here.
