Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers to the questions recruiters ask most often on Paraform. Use the right-hand navigation to jump to a topic, or read through—many questions cross-link to in-depth articles for more detail.

Recruiter profile

How can I change the email address on my account?

Click on your name or profile photo in the top left-hand corner of your dashboard and select Settings. Click the Change email button, enter your new email address, and click Continue. You'll receive a confirmation code at the updated email address to enter.

Payments

How do I set up Stripe?

Navigate to your Earnings dashboard from the left-hand panel. Click the Add payment method button at the top right and choose Continue to Stripe to set up your account off-platform. See 📄 Getting Paid on Paraform for the full payment flow.

Is Stripe the only payment method?

Yes; international payment processing is strictly regulated—to ensure compliance, Stripe is currently the only option to receive payments through Paraform. If Stripe isn't supported in your location, you can reach out to team@paraform.com to be added to our notification list—we'll be sure to reach out directly if we're able to offer alternative payment methods in the future.

How do placement payments work?

Placement payments are paid in three installments: 30, 60, and 90 days after the candidate's start date. Click on a placement payment from your Earnings dashboard to view the full breakdown of installments.

How do payments for contract-to-hire placements work?

For contractual hires, we work with the candidate and the client at the end of each month to determine billable hours, then pay out your share of that amount.

How do agency payments work?

The agency owner sets up a Stripe account for the agency. All agency members' earnings flow to that account, and internal distribution is up to the agency. See the Agencies section for more information on setting up an agency.

How do taxes work?

As an independent contractor, you're responsible for paying your own taxes on Paraform earnings. For US-based recruiters, a 1099 form will be issued at the end of the year summarizing your earnings. Stripe automates 1099 tax reporting and filing—see Stripe's docs for details.

Sourcing candidates

How should I find candidates?

See 📄 Broadening Your Candidate Pool for a full guide to sourcing talent.

Where can I find the Chrome extension?

The extension is free for all Paraform recruiters—install it here.

How does the Chrome extension work, and do I need it?

We highly recommend using the Chrome extension to source candidates to Paraform—it allows you to instantly save candidates, source them directly to your primary roles, and quickly parse information.

How often should I screen candidates?

Each candidate should be screened at least once on a video or phone call before being submitted to a role. The screening call is your chance to evaluate how aligned the candidate is with the role's requirements.

Using 📄 Paraform Calls and including screening-call snippets with your submission materially strengthens it—hiring managers get a direct sense of the candidate in their own voice.

Submissions

Why can't I submit this candidate?

There are a few common causes for blocked submissions:

  • You must save this candidate for this role through the Paraform Chrome Extension. Typically this means you've saved the candidate to your CRM, but haven't added them to that specific role. You can do that from the "Roles" tab of their candidate profile, or by using the Chrome extension and selecting the role from the top drop-down.

  • The candidate has already been submitted to the company. This means that another recruiter has already submitted the candidate, or the candidate has previously applied directly to the company and is already in their ATS. See 📄 Candidate Ownership for more details.

  • Candidate is banned from this role / rejected too many times / has multiple pending submissions. Our system enforces blocks if a candidate has been repeatedly rejected or submitted multiple times without reaching a mid-round interview. Reach out to your Paraform talent partner if you want to inquire further.

Why is there a limit on the number of submissions?

Role-level submission limits keep hiring managers from being overwhelmed and protect the quality of the submission pool. If you're noticing a limit that seems unusual or blocking, reach out to your Paraform talent partner.

Pipeline status

How does candidate interview scheduling work?

The hiring manager communicates with your candidate about scheduling. Recruiters don't currently schedule interviews on behalf of candidates through Paraform.

If the interview was already scheduled outside of Paraform but isn't reflected on the platform, you can use the Set interview date feature on the role from the candidate's profile. Note that this doesn't actually schedule an interview—it's just helpful for tracking purposes.

Agencies

How do agencies work on Paraform?

With an agency account on Paraform, you can:

  • Add and manage agency members.

  • Track candidates across your entire team.

  • Consolidate payments to a single Stripe account owned by the agency.

  • Control visibility of platform activity and rewards as the agency owner.

How can I add my recruiting agency to the platform?

Navigate to the Agency dashboard from the left-hand panel. Enter your agency name and click Create.

How can my agency members join the platform?

  1. Create your agency first.

  2. Go to the Members tab.

  3. Select Invite member and enter the member's email address.

  4. They'll accept the invite from the email they receive.
